TurboHarp was founded in 1996 by world-renown biomedical engineering and inventor, James F. Antaki, PhD, to develo and commercialize harmonicas. These innovative harmonicas are the result of Dr. Antaki’s ongoing pioneering studies on the acoustic of harmonicas since 1990. Today, the company’s portfolio includes an extensive product line that features some of the most innovative feature in the field since the invention of the harmonica 200 year ago. This extensive development has resulted in five US patents. TurboHarp provides customers with the ability to update, upgrade, optimize, and customize their diatonic harmonicas. The TurboTwenty takes a classic Hohner harmonica (the Special 20) and updates its coverplates with polycarbonate, unbreakable plastic covers that are ergonomic, comfortable, won't pinch facial hair, and provides a method for color coding the many keys available for the Special 20. The TurboLid coverplates are patented and serve as a must-have accessory for any serious or beginning harmonica player. The ELX is the world's only acoustic-electric harmonica. The TurboSlide allows harmonica players to bend and manipulate blow notes on the blow reeds, making the diatonic Seydel Session Steel harmonica into a hybrid diatonic and chromatic harmonica. |
